Hiking along one of Oberstaufen´s nature trails, amongst mountain landscapes, can become quite and adventure. Trails across the Imberg and the Hündle explain a lot about the region’s nature and flora with its historic alpine culture.
Along the chapel trail, the history of the churches and chapels can be discovered.

Premium Route
In 2009 the certified Premium Route was opened. The Wild Waters route belongs to Germany’s top 5 most beautiful and impressive walkways. The eleven kilometres round trip starts at the Hündle summit station, taking you along a panoramic path, past alpine huts to the waterfalls. In 2010 two more routes followed: The Alpine Freedom and The Invigorating High Ridge. Both tracks promise great views and a hike to remember.

The centre of the Natural Preserve, the Nagelfluhkette
Visitors can discover on a walk through the German-Austrian Natural Preserve, the Nagelfluhkette, the amazing geographical natural stone formations- geotops, which have been certified by Bavaria’s environmental department as the most spectacular of its kind. The breathtaking terrain also has the most active alpine huts in the country. There are more than 160 small farms around Oberstaufen’s region. No wonder most people want to find their way up to the top!

Walking with Oberstaufen PLUS
With your Oberstaufen PLUS guest card you have unlimited use of the mountain transport and free access to various attractions. This is only available by the participating hosts and is valid for the duration of your stay and for the whole day:

• Free ascent and descent with the Hochgrat cable car. Enjoy the sunny terrace at 1800 metres high with its panoramic views and take a hike along one of the many walkways. It is also possible to experience the "Sunset" and "Full Moon" trips.

• Free ascent and descent with the Imberg cable car. The region borders on Austria and offers family friendly walks, alpine nature trails with lots of interesting interactive activities for children and welcoming rustic huts offering refreshments and local specialities.

• Free ascent and descent with the Hündle chair lift. Ideal for families offering nature trails and playgrounds with a popular petting zoo which is next to the summer toboggan run, which is for card holders free of charge ( valid for one run per hour). There are various places to eat and buy refreshments.

• Free admission in the swimming arena Aquaria - ideal for all weathers. Inside and outside heated pools with a large sauna area, a 100m water slide with baby pool and a sports pool. Also free admission into the summer oudoor swimming pool in Thalkirchdorf Freibad, with a large pool, a childrens pool and grassed sunbathing area.

• Free transport with the Oberstaufen shuttle bus within the centre and the Town Immenstadt, and up to the village Steibis, where the Imberg and Hochgrat cable car stations are situated.

• Free parking in designated areas within Oberstaufen- at the parking metre the guest will receive a ticket, valid for the longest duration possible.

• Free admission to the nutrition lectures at the Färberhaus.

• The Crazy Golf area and local attractions such as the Local Museum and the outdoor high ropes Climbing Course are also included. Discounts with the guest card in certain retail shops and gastronomy are also available.
